Bar Rebuild Update--The bar rebuild continues to move forward, although the process has been slower than we had hoped. The Board of Trustees recently decided to obtain three new bids for the reconstruction work, and those bids have now been submitted to our insurance company for review. We are currently waiting for their response and approval so we can move ahead with repairs. If all goes well, we are hopeful that our bar will be back in operation sometime in September. Thank you for your patience and support during this process.

Dinners—I would like to take a moment to recognize our cook, who generously volunteers her time to prepare meals for our members. She receives no wages for her efforts and is compensated only through tips. She purchases the food, covers those expenses from the meal sales, and the remaining profit is donated to the program hosting the dinner, whether that be the Auxiliary, Riders, Sons, or the Post.

Recently, after preparing and serving a Friday dinner, she received only $21 in tips. Considering the time, effort, and dedication she puts into providing quality meals, this was disappointing to see. Our dinner program is a valued part of our Post, but it can only continue if we support those who make it possible. I encourage everyone who enjoys these meals to show their appreciation. Without that support, we may need to reconsider how—and if—our dinner program continues in the future.

Puyallup Fair—AMVETS will once again be staffing a booth at the Puyallup Fair. This is a great opportunity to represent our organization and connect with the community. Volunteers who work a shift at the booth will receive a free admission ticket to the fair. If you are interested in helping, please contact an officer for more information.
