As Commander, I am continually reminded that our Post’s success is built on the dedication of our volunteers. Every event we hold, every meal we serve, every fundraiser we conduct, and every service we provide happens because someone steps up to help.

 

To recognize that commitment, each volunteer who completes a volunteer slip receives one entry into our monthly Volunteer Appreciation Drawing. Winners are selected during our Post meeting, and you do not need to be present to win. Steve Morris was recognized at our June meeting for his volunteer service during May, and his name was drawn again at our July meeting for his volunteer work in June. Thank you, Steve.

I recently had the opportunity to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Auburn’s new Veterans Health Clinic. The facility is truly impressive and will provide services to veterans in the area. If you live near Auburn and would like more information about the clinic, please feel free to contact me.

During our July Post meeting, members were sworn in to the following positions:

•       Judge Advocate – Bill Johnston

•       Finance Officer – Richard Becker

•       Trustee (2028) – Rachel Murphy

 

The following positions remain vacant: 2nd Vice Commander, Adjutant and Past Commander Trustee.

We also enjoyed a fantastic Annual Picnic and Fourth of July celebration. It was a day filled with great food, activities and fun. A special thank you to our 3rd Vice Commander for all the planning and hard work that made this event such a success.
