We are a Veteran non-profit organization, a place for Veterans and their families come together.
A Message from your Commander
As my 1st term of service as your Commander comes to an end, I want to take a moment to bid you all a heartfelt “Farewell and Thank You.” I am deeply grateful to our incredible volunteers who have made this journey possible. To the volunteers in the following roles: Corporate Administrative Assistants (March 2023-May 2024); Building Operations & Maintenance Personnel; Events, Recreation, & Activities Workers and Troubleshooters.

Along with our financial supporters, you’ve played an essential role in keeping our building open for business, welcoming to our members, guests, and visitors, and keeping it safe for everyone who walks through our doors.
As we move forward, we have grants pending for even more public service events such as job fairs, workshops, and health fairs. There are also new events and activities in the works to provide even more value to our membership. We continue to benefit from Tacoma Calvary for a steady income and have hall rentals and band nights pending to ensure additional support.

In June 2024, our nonprofit Post #1 transitioned to being fully managed and led by volunteers. We have had rough spots, but our bottom line is better off for it. Let’s all join together in supporting the Officers, and Trustees who will take us into this next phase.

Second Nominations - April 24th: We’ll hold second nominations at the Post for several important AMVETS positions. We are calling on our members to step up and take on leadership roles, including: Post 1 Cdr; 1st Vice Cdr; 2nd Vice Cdr; 3rd Vice Cdr; Finance Officer; Judge Advocate; Provost Marshall and Trustee Position.

If you’re interested or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Commander, Adjutant, or any other officer for more information.

I encourage everyone to attend the Post meeting on Thursday, April 24th, at 6:00 PM for second nominations. We will also have the Post Trustee meeting on Thursday, April 18th, at 6:00 PM.

If you have any questions, ideas, or suggestions on how we can continue improving, please know that my ears and eyes are always open.
